Join our guest teacher Noelia Coletti for two weekend workshops which will inspire you to re-think how you dance tango:
Week 1 – 2nd August – Leaders are from Mars, Followers are from Venus?
Not opposites, but mirrors: re-thinking roles in tango.
Are leaders and followers truly from different worlds? Or have we misunderstood their roles? Noelia Coletti’s exciting workshops will invite dancers to challenge the old paradigm of opposition and hierachy in tango roles.
Instead of thinking of leaders and followers as fundamentally different, Noelia will explore with you how each role reflects and informs the other. Like two mirrors, their dynamic is not based on “command and obey”, but on intention, listening and shared creation.
Week 2 – 9th August – The dancer’s search for meaning
In this second workshop, Noelia will leave behind the “what and how” to explore the WHY of dancing tango. As a group you will explore letting go of the steps and embrace the emotional and expressive layers that lie beneath the movements. You will also investigate how your subjectivity shapes the dance.
Both workshops are open to all dancers of improver level upwards – whether you lead, follow or switch. No partner needed!
Whilst you don’t need to attend both workshops, attending the complete series will ensure you gain maximum insight and progression.
These classes will expand how you think, feel and move in tango!
