Week 1 – Soltadas
“We only part to meet again” – John Gay
Discover the charm of letting go of the embrace – a soltada – only to reunite a moment later. By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Lead and follow soltadas with control: timing, body tone, axis.
- Maintain connection during the release.
- Use soltadas expressively and musically in improvisation.
- Integrate soltadas smoothly into common tango figures (giros, sacadas, ochos).
Week 2 – Cosidas
What would happen if we let our legs makes the decisions? Cosidas are beautiful leg movements where the tango dancers legs momentarily entwine together. By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Lead and follow cosidas with control: timing, body tone, axis.
- Learn to listen attentively to our partner’s smallest movements.
- Learn to respond not resist.
- Use cosidas expressively and musically in improvisation.
Suitable for Improvers upwards. No partner needed. Whilst it would be ideal to attend both workshops – it is no problem if you can just make one!
