Join us for two focused and inspiring Saturday workshops designed to refine your technique and spark new creativity in your dance.
Each session stands on its own, but together they offer a beautifully connected arc — from that meaningful first moment, through the expressive pauses, and culminating in an ending that leaves a lasting impression.
Week 1: Beginnings and Endings
The opening and closing moments of a tango phrase carry intention, clarity, and emotional weight. In this workshop, we’ll explore how to:
-
Step into movement with presence and confidence
-
Use musical cues to begin and end phrases with elegance
-
Create subtle or dramatic finishes that feel satisfying — for both partners
Whether you’re going for softness or drama, this workshop will give you tools to make your dancing feel complete and intentional.
Week 2: Paradas: Variations, Musicality and Decorations
Paradas — pauses in the dance where the leaders and follower’s feet meet — offer a moment of stillness, connection, and expression. In this session, we’ll explore:
-
Variations in placement and feel
-
Elegant and playul adornos
-
Musically and flow
This workshop will give you confidence in using paradas to enhance your improvisation and add richness to your dance.
Come to one or join both — each workshop offers unique material and insights.
Suitable for improver/intermediate dancers and up. No need to bring a partner – we’ll rotate partners throughout.
We look forward to dancing with you!
