Two Saturdays exploring 2 of the most exciting ways of interacting with your partner in tango.

Saturday 15 August – BARRIDAS:

A barrida is where the leader or follower sweeps the free foot of their partner.

We’ll explore:

  • The technique and mechanics behind a smooth, connected barrida
  • Different entrances, combinations and exits
  • Creating playful foot-to-foot exchanges

Saturday 22 August – SACADAS

A sacada is a movement where the leader or follower displaces the free leg of their partner.

Sacadas are all about understanding space, timing and intention — creating dynamic movements by stepping into the space your partner is leaving.

We’ll work on:

  • The technique behind clear, comfortable sacadas
  • Finding the right moment to enter your partner’s space
  • Leader and follower sacadas
  • Linking sacadas into flowing combinations
  • Changing dynamics

Across both workshops, we’ll look at how barridas and sacadas can help create deeper connection with your partners, giving you new possibilities for playful, fluid and expressive dancing.
