When Covid-19 crashed into our lives, it impacted us all in a multitude of ways.
As the first cases trickled into the UK, one young couple were planning to take their first wedding dance lesson.
The class went really well but little did they know it would be their last. The Covid-19 trickle had become a flood. And the world came to a halt.
A few weeks went by and David and I got in touch to suggest online classes. We had never taught a couple their wedding dance online before but we were convinced that Covid-19 needn’t get in the way of their plans.
But Sarah and Kieron were doubtful. It was not what they had envisaged. Like many people, they were a little sceptical that online classes could even work.
Fast forward two months (and four or five classes later) and well, quite simply …. wow!
It’s incredible to see what they have achieved! Neither of them had ever danced tango before! And Kieron had zero dance experience.
Here is the video of their work in progress. We can’t wait to see the final product, on their special day, in their beautiful outfits and to an audience of their friends and family.
It just goes to show how effective online tango classes can be.
Are you are one of the doubters? Think again!
Covid-19 has closed a lot of doors for us (most notably our front doors) but it has also opened a lot of avenues that we may not have explored had circumstances been different.
There is light at the end of the tunnel for tango. We are beginning to teach in our beautiful studio again – small groups and following. careful precautions.
But online tango is here to stay!
